Chairman of the Board

Ulf has more than 30 years of design experience with boats. He has held several positions at Oy Nautor Ab, including Design Manager, Project Manager, Product Development Manager, Technical Director, and most recently Operations Director. Before joining Nautor, Ulf worked with design and product development in the construction industry for five years..

Niklas Forsbacka

Managing Director, Senior Design Engineer, Mechanical Systems

During his 28 years in the business, Niklas has worked as a Designer and Project Manager at Oy Nicon Ab (now Sweco Industry Oy) with projects for the processing, mechanical and boating industries. The largest individual clients were OMG, UPM, Alholmens Kraft, NCE, Japrotek, and Nautor. For the last five years before joining Imatek, Niklas had the role as Project Manager for customised storage systems and automation for sheet metal handling lines at LKI Käldman. At Imatek, Niklas has mainly worked with projects for the processing industry.

Jan-Anders Englund

Senior Design Engineer, Electrical and Automation Systems

Jan-Anders has gained experience in electrical and automation design whilst working for several companies during his 25 years in the industry. For the first two years after his graduation, he was employed by Wärtsilä NSD Power Plants. For the next three years, he worked at Avecon in Jakobstad. UPM and Nautor were then his biggest clients. For the following 7 years he was employed at Nautor as an Electrical Designer working on big yachts. Before joining Imatek, Jan-Anders worked for three years at Citec´s Electrical & Automation department in Jakobstad. During his years at Imatek, he has worked with projects for Nautor and Kewatec in the boating industry and with the upgrading of electrical systems in older boats under private management.

Matias Björklund

Senior Design Engineer, Mechanical Systems

Matias has 20 years of experience in mechanical design. For the first nine years he was employed by Oy Nicon Ab (now Sweco Industry Oy).  Then he worked on projects in the processing, mechanical and boating industries, where the largest individual clients were KWH Mirka, Walki, OMG, UPM, Alholmens Kraft, NCE and Nautor.  During his eight years at Imatek, Matias has developed machines and production lines for the manufacturing industry.

Jonas Nysten

Senior Design Engineer, Electrical and Automation Systems

Jonas has a Master of Science (Eng) degree in Electrical Engineering and Energy Technology. He also has a Bachelor of Science (Eng) degree in Automation Engineering. During his 13 years in the industry, Jonas has worked at ABB Motors, Flink Engineering, Global Cool Consults, and Elkamo. Since the beginning of 2019 he has been part of our team at Imatek and his main task is electrical design for boats.

Tomas Häggman

Senior Design Engineer, Mechanical and Automation Systems

Tomas is a trained electrical and automation engineer. He finished his studies in the year 2000. For the first three years after graduating, he worked with electrical and automation planning at Mekrapid and Acu-Electro. The following five years he was employed by Oy Snellman Ab as a Preventive Maintenance Manager. From 2008 he worked as a Chief Design Engineer at Japrotek Oy Ab, where his main task was the construction of pressure vessels and cisterns. At first, he used AutoCad 2D in his design work and later on Inventor for 3D. In 2017, he was employed by Prevex in the position of R&D Team Leader. There Tomas was trained in Solidworks, which he used in his daily work. Tomas joined us in April 2021.

Robin Sandbacka

Design Engineer, Electrical and Automation Systems

Robin completed his automation studies in the spring of 2023. He then had a three-month fixed-term position as a maintenance engineer at Alholmens Kraft. He worked as a System Specialist at CABB in Kokkola until he was employed by us in March 2024,
